Dr. Andrew "Drew" Dahlgren, MD, MBA
Dr. Drew Dahlgren is a physician with more than 20 years in sports medicine. He is board certified in Sports Medicine, Obesity Medicine and Family Medicine. Much of his writing today is about GLP-1 medications: how to hold on to your muscle while you're taking them, and how to keep the weight off when you stop.
Drew spent the first part of his career caring for athletes and active adults at orthopedic practices in Virginia, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He then completed a patient safety fellowship at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, served as a physician surveyor for The Joint Commission, and moved into health plan leadership, starting at Humana in 2018. He now serves as chief medical officer of a Medicare Advantage health plan.
He's also an early adopter of AI in medicine. He builds many of his own tools and writes about what actually helps doctors and patients, and what doesn't.
Drew lives outside Lexington, Kentucky, with his wife, Amy, at Arendahl Farm, where they breed and train sport horses. They have four children.
