If you’re considering trying the LCHF (low carbohydrate, high fat) diet, but wondering what exactly you will be eating if you are not eating carbs, check out these  simple LCHF meal plans as examples. These menus will give you an idea for what a typical day on a LCHF diet looks like. As you can see, you will be eating plenty of food, so you will not be hungry when following this diet.

Day 1

Breakfast ·         1 cup coffee with cream

·         Greek omelet with spinach and feta cheese

·         2 strips bacon

Snack ·         Salami and provolone roll ups
Lunch ·         Large green salad

·         Poached salmon

·         Olive oil and balsamic dressing

Snack ·         Handful of mixed nuts

·         Raw veggies with Greek yogurt dip

Dinner ·         Steak, fried in butter

·         Cauliflower “mashed potatoes” with butter

·         Sautéed green beans with garlic and olive oil

Dessert ·         1/2 cup strawberries with whipped cream

 

Day 2

Breakfast ·         1 cup coffee with cream

·         Broccoli and Cheese Frittata

·         2 links breakfast sausage

Snack ·         1/2 cup full-fat Greek yogurt

·         1/2 cup blackberries

Lunch ·         Crab-stuffed avocado

·         Olive oil and cilantro dressing

Snack ·         Marinated olives with feta cheese

·         Handful of raw almonds

Dinner ·         Baked cod

·         Zucchini “noodles” with pesto

·         Roasted asparagus

Dessert ·         Low-carb chocolate mousse with whipped cream

 

Day 3

Breakfast ·         1 cup coffee with cream

·         Eggs Benedict (minus the English muffin)

·         2 strips bacon

Snack ·         Smoked salmon and cucumber rolls
Lunch ·         Vietnamese chicken wraps
Snack ·         1/2 cup raspberries

·         1/2 cup full-fat Greek yogurt

Dinner ·         Lemon turkey cutlets

·         1 cup steamed broccoli with butter

Dessert ·         Brie cheese

·         1/4 cup blackberries

Hopefully, these sample menus give you a better picture of what a typical LCHF diet is like. Just because it is low in carbohydrates and sugar doesn’t mean it has to be low in taste or variety!
